PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS-PSYCHS OPINION

Ladies and Gentlemen, Now lets see what is Psychological tests? and why they are taken at ISSB? , And how to attempt these? Till the time you don’t understand this you won’t be able to attempt them correctly. Following tests will be part of your Psychological test at ISSB
1. Word Association Test. Single word will be displayed for 10 seconds to make a sentence and write it.
2. Sentence Completion Test. Half sentences will be written and you have to complete them.
3. Picture Story. A picture will be shown and you have to write a story related to the picture.
4. Unforgettable Moment. You will be required to write an unforgettable moment of your life in a paragraph.
5. Good and Bad qualities of yourself.
6. Favourite Personality.
Why they are taken?
Psychological test are taken to find out about your sub-conscious, your genuine motives to join army, your actual likes and dislikes, your inferiorities and inhibitions. As per the study human beings complete their sub-conscious growth by the age of 5years……So by the age you are appearing at ISSB you cant do much about that……J , but believe me in Pakistan’s society every one of us is having psychological problems due to the situation all around us. I will not go into the reasons of that but will tell you how to attempt in a healthier way……..
How to Attempt?
There are few general principles which are applicable to all tests. You should keep them in mind while attempting the psychological tests. However if you have any specific question to any test, we would be pleased to answer……..
1. Completeness.   Your tests should be complete; means don’t leave ANY question/word/sentence blank. If you leave any thing blank means;
              1.1 You are hiding from ISSB
              1.2 You lack determination.
              1.3 You are slow in thought process.
2. Avoid Cuttings and re-writings. You must avoid cuttings and re-writings. It will give a good look of your paper and also clarity of your ideas. If you do cuttings or re-writings, it will mean;
            2.1 You are confused.
            2.2. You can’t express you ideas clearly in first attempt.
            2.3 You are not firm in decision making.
            2.4 You lack self assurance.
3.  New Ideas. Try not to repeat one idea too many times. Like don’t try to make too many sentences relating to Army Officer, you can talk about teacher, engineer, doctor, social worker etc BUT avoid talking about politicians, and criminals.

4. Positive Thinking.  Almost every one will tell try to be a positive thinker but no one tells HOW? Here is an example which will make it clear what’s the difference between Positive and Negative thinking:-
4.1 Negative. I don’t tell lie.
4.2 Positive. I speak truth.
Now if you see both sentences convey same meaning but there is a difference of thinking behind both. In first sentence the candidate thought about “LIE” a negative aspect and then tries to cover that with a “DON’T”. So even this one sentence will represent:
4.1.1 You are hiding facts about yourself.
4.1.2 You are basically a “Liar”
4.1.3 You see things firstly from negative angle.
And opposite to all these are in 4.2 means you are straight forward and clear headed person!!!!!!!!!
